Severe Abdominal Pain After Starting Imatinib Therapy For Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Is Normal?
Hello, am 28 yrs old recently diagonised with cml and started iminitib theraphy just 4days ago but there is serious pain in my stomach after the start of theraphy. Note that my lever and spleen had expanded to 21cm and 26cm respectively, Is that normal side effect?

in chronic myeloid leukemia it is very much expected to have enlarged liver and spleen. Once the blood counts come down after imatinib therapy the regression of the size of liver and spleen will follow.
Mild abdominal discomfort could be part of the disease as well and may also be the side effect of Imatinib. As you continue to use it these effects will wane.
