Severe Cough And Sleeplessness After Taking Atorvastin For Cholesterol. No Help From Zocar. On Metoprol Tar For High BP And Losartan. Help
My husband has a severe cough since starting atorvastin 20mg 1 qd for high cholesterol. It's making it difficult to do his job which is in management. He is also taking Metoprol Tar 50mg BID in the am and 1 QD in the evening for high blood pressure and Losartan/hct 50-12 tab 1 QD. I asked the doctor to take him off Atorvastin and now he is switched to Zocar 20mg 1 QD. The coughing has not stopped. Help me stop this cough for him, he is starting to lose sleep now too.
Hi, the continuous cough could be due to uvulitis, the swelling of uvula, a projection from the soft palate. or there may be some infection in the lungs. Gargling with salt water may ease the cough to some extent. I advise you to consult a physitian for diagnosis and treatment of chest infecton,he may need to have an xray chest for confirmation. Thank you.
