Severe Depression, Suicidal, Unable To Talk To Strangers. Will I Be Okay?

I am on the verge of suicide, it seems the only option left

I was diagnosed with severe depression last year, but its obviously something else, I got to the point where I couldn't go back to the doctors, as I couldn't leave my house alone, there are days where I can but for no more than 15-30 mins but with someone with me, my mood changes so rapidly, I have no job, no financial support as I can't get to the end of my road, let alone go in to town with all the people and talk to strangers in the job centre to get financial support, I cannot pay my bills, there is only one option left

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to HCM

You have been diagnosed with severe depression and are not taking any medicines currently. You have mentioned that you can't walk out of home alone, you can't go to end of road or can't go out of town alone. These symptoms are most likely due to anxiety disorder or most specifically agoraphobia. Due to this you are not able to function properly in social and occupational domain. I would advise you to visit a Psychiatrist as without medicines it would be very difficult to get relief. Medicines as well as Behavior therapy are useful in proper management.

Hope it helps
Thanks

Dear
Welcome to HCM
You were diagnosed under severe depression once
Not every time
That means depression is a state of mind, not a disease
People are supposed to be depressed when such overwhelming situation arise
and they also recover
For now you should consult a qualified psychologist for successful advice
Needs psychotherapy, Yoga and meditation.
Wish you speedy recovery

Hello,
You need help urgently.Consult a psychiatrist.Talk to someone , a friend or relative and share how you are feeling. As far as possible, do not stay alone since you seem severely depressed.GO and see a psychiatrist at the earliest as you require medical intervention.
I understand that you feel hopeless, but don't give up. Give yourself a chance.

Psychiatrist Dr. Jonas Sundarakumar's  Response
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.

I understand that you are in the midst of a very difficult time due to your psychological problems. But with the limited information that you have shared, it is difficult to make a definitive diagnosis. It is possible that you could be having a phobic-anxiety disorder, in addition to your depression.

However, since you are extremely distressed and are having suicidal ideas, I would advise you to seek immediate medical attention. You can call up the suicide prevention hotline in your country or take the help of a relative or friend to get professional help.

Wish you all the best.

Regards,
Dr. Jonas Sundarakumar
