Severe Heartburn, Heavy Saliva Flow After 1 Hour Of Taking Fluvastatin. Have Hiatal Hernia

I have been taking fluvastatin for a couple of months. Recently, I have been having severe heartburn about an hour after taking (at bedtime). It lasts an hour or more and is quite painful. I also have a heavy saliva flow during this time.
I do have a hiatal hernia. Just wondering if the statin is causing the problem, or possibly something else. This is about the 5th statin I've tried..... all have had various other side effects.
