Severe Pain After Carpal Surgery

recently had carpal tunnel surgery now i have severe pain in shoulder and weakness in arm i recently had carpal tunnel surgery due to pain in shoulder and hand. now my shoulder/arm and hand are so weak and painful it is so awful. what is wrong with me? pam

Hi Pam,
Did you have shoulder pain and weakness prior to the Surgery? If yes, then you might have cervical spondylosis. Cervical spondylosis with or without cervical disc prolapse causes shoulder pain and weakness and could co exist with carpal tunnel syndrome. In such patients, the pain persists inspite of surgery. I would suggest to get an Xray or MRI of the cervical spine done to rule out this disorder.
For the meanwhile you can have any tablet with Vitamin B complex once a day daily for 2 months.
