Severe Pain While Swallowing, Heavy Mucus Since Tonsil Removal. How Long Will This Last?
I had my tonsils out 6 days ago, I haven t eaten one thing I ve drank like 3 cups of water that s it because of the pain it is hurting so bad and everything I do have a little something to bite loads of mucus comes up and I was wondering how long this is gonna last because I m in a lot of pain and I need to eat I m skinny as it is, I m only 13 thank you
6 days is a short time after surgery , and there would be a little bit of pain
I would expect that you surgeon would have started you on some medicines for the pain , some gargles ( such as betadine+ hydrogen peroxide) , and some other tablets ( antibiotics ) You could consider Diclofenac gargles( e.g. disoral/redirinse)
As for the diet , you should try having soft food without spices ( idli, halwa , plain dal and rice , simple vegetables etc.)
please give it a little time
If you think that it is getting worse , or the medicines are not helping , I suggest you meet with the operating surgeon
