Severe Razor Burns After Shaving. Burning Sensation While Urinating. Should I Get It Checked?
i shaved recently and it appears to just be severe razor burn , but its the worst i have ever seen it, and just today i started feeling a slight burning sensation when i urinate. the razor burn has been there for a few days now and has been very sensitive.. but the burning sensation when i urinate has just started today. should i be going to the clinic immediately?
hi
You had developed a superficial wound due to razor trauma which has now got infected, thereby leading to the pain and burning sensation
firstly, i would advise you to keep the area clean and dry as much as possilble. Clean it with lukewarm water or any antiseptic solution in dilution twice a day .Avoid touching it too much...Avoid using any kind of cold dreams or hair oils..as it might increase the lesion..You can start using any topical antibiotic/antiseptic cream ( like mupirocin cream )over the lesion. Wear cotton undergarments as to to avoid the amount of sweating
If it persists even after using the cream for 2-3 days, then you need to consult a skin specialist as you might need a course of oral antibiotics.Take some pain killers along for relieving the associated pain and discomfort
Hope it helps
