Severe Skin Itching. Using Permethrin Lotion, Crotorax Ointment. Suggestions?

Hi Doctor, Recently from last 8 weeks i am having body itching. Now a days when it itches and i scratch the itching Today i had been to Skin doctor for expert opinion. He suggested that this is nothing serious and he prescribed permethrin lotion and ointment crotorax and sternon -g my ,Tablet HYRAX 10 for 3 week and suggested to apply that it may give some relief. Kindly suggest your opinion on this the reason for this type of itching and how long will it take to cure. Your answers will be well taken. Regards

Hi Manju,
The treatment suggested points towards a mite infestation of skin known as scabies.It can occur in anyone. I would advise you to follow your doctor's prescription as the treatment must have been suggested after proper skin examination. With single application of permethrin, you will see a noticeable reduction in itching. However complete recovery from itching might take two to three weeks and for the same, your doctor advised you to continue the medicines for the said period. Hope that solves your query. Take care.

dear patient
u r suffering from scabies which generaly cure after 2-3 weeks of treatment, continue your treatment, and also wash u r cloths properly with some drop of dettol or other means
dont worry u will be fine with in some days
