Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Your gums are inflammed causing swelling.

Since you had scaling of teeth done just 1 month back, your systemic health llke,blood-sugar levels, medications administered, immunity has to be monitored.

Take doxycycline tablets to relieve any abscess underlying.

Take vitamin c as well as folic acid supplements.

Plenty of fruits and juices has to be taken.

Get routine dental check up done.

Take care.

Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

Swelling in the gums can be due to various reasons few are poor oral hygiene, plgue and calculus deposition, use of certain medications, blood disorders, nutritional deficiencies.

A thorough oral nad physical examination is required to rule out the cause and plan the treatment.

Start with the course of multivitamin suplements.
Take complete balanced diet with plenty of raw vegetables, fruits , juices, citrus fruits, oranges, lemon, drink plenty of water and keep yourself hydrated.

Maintain a good oral hygiene by regular brushing, flossing, use of interdental cleaners and mouthwash.

Hope this helps out,

Regards.

Dentist, Implantology Dr. S.Naveen Kumar's  Response
hi Sana,
You havent mentioned your age,sex ,occupation and are you

under medication, since it is required for diagnosis and treatment planning in

dentistry.Swollen gums are due to an inflammatory response to disease or

bacteria around the teeth. The presence of gum inflammation is used to

indicate the severity of conditions such as gingivitis, periodontitis and

periodontal disease .swollen gums can be also because of side effects like viral

,fungal infections ,prescription medications etc. Scaling can help remove

calcified bacterial deposits such as tartar or hard to reach plaque, allowing the

swelling to reverse itself and for you to keep your gums clean. If gum swelling

is severe, surgical or laser therapy may be needed to remove excess tissue.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. Saurabh Gupta's  Response
Hi,

It can recur for any of the following reasons:
The patient's general state of health is poor.
Home care and regular professional cleaning programs are not maintained.
The disease has spread into the spaces between the roots of multi-rooted teeth such as molars. It is very difficult to remove plaque from all these root surfaces.
The disease can even reappear after excellent treatment and good home care, for no known reasons. In these cases antibacterial drugs may be helpful.
