Hello

Thanks for writing to H.C.M. for your query.

I have gone through your query regarding severe throat infection which is not responding to antibiotic ceforoxime and you have developed severe esophagitis which you feel as pinching pain on taking any solid food items.

Considering your All symptoms and co-relating them with your treatment history it appears that you are suffering from acute pharyngitis with severe gastritis , may be drug induced. Since you are not getting effect of antibiotic therefore you should do these investigations-

(a) Culture and sensitivity of throat swab- For identification of infecting organism and find out the most effective antibiotic for your throat infection.

(b) Blood- CBC, ESR, blood sugar- F. & P.P.

(c) X-Ray chest _ P.A. view.

Till the culture report is awaited you can take other broad spectrum antibiotic and to avoid gastric irritation injectable route should be preferred. along with antibiotic some antacid should also be taken, avoid spicy diet, took warm saline gargling and analgesic should be used as per need.

I hope this will help you.

Regards.
