Hi,
The trauma over the chest can be the reason for the pain which you are describing. Injury in case of chest trauma depends on the intensity of the force and in high impact injury can also lead to rib fractures maybe single or multiple. Apart from fractures soft tissue injury is also there. I would advise you to consult some doctor and have a chest x-ray to make it confirm that there is no rib fracture, because rib fracture is very painful condition and even limit your breathing, which you are describing. X-ray chest will make this easy to make this confirmation. Apart form that you may be prescribed some pain killer and muscle relaxant if the pain is because of the trauma only.
Thanks and take care
