Sharp Stabbing Pains In The Left Side Of Neck / Throat

I am experiencing sharp stabbing pains in the left side of my neck/throat. These pains are brought on by talking or can be brought on by exercise or labored breathing. When a full blown "attack" occurs it causes difficulty in breathing and a choking sensation, accompanied by a severe stabbing almost burning sensation as well. These attacks last only a minute or so.

There are three possibility. It can be cervical spondylitis, I mean nerve compression in your neck. Are you feel more pain in night or when your neck remain in same position for long hours like travelling. It can be a referred pain from shoulder. Third possibility may be a issue in your ear or throat. So my first advice is to get a x ray and ultrasound of neck and shoulder. Show it to orthopedic and he will be able to answer your queries. Also you can post your reports in this forum. Take care.
