Shooting Pain In Upper Leg, Increased Pain While Walking. History Of Getting Piece Of Metal Stuck At Bottom Of Foot. Connections?
Two days ago I got a small piece of metal in the bottom of my foot, I tried to remove it but it was very painful, so I left it assuming that it would eventually work its way out. Now today about 3 hours ago I started to get a shooting pain in my upper leg (from the knee up) with increasing pain when I walk. Is this pain related with the metal in my foot? What should I do? And what is this pain I am experience?
The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to infection/ inflammation secondary to the metal struck in your foot. The body considers the metal piece as a foreign body & elicits an inflammatory response against it.
Management involves removal of the causative agent, that is the metal piece. Following that, you need to take analgesic-anti inflammatory agents & anti biotics for symptomatic relief. So, kindly consult your Doctor & get it removed.
There is no need to worry, you will be fine. Take care.
