My Doctor prescribed      Bigomet SR 1g nocte for three months and, I did not take this medicine for type 2 diabetics. But I managed to control my FBS 96 - 103 mg/l and BS after 3hrs of meals 87 - 118 mg/l. Should I continue without the above medication? Thanks for contacting HCM. Dear patient I must congratulate you for your effort in keeping blood glucose under control with diet. Hats off to you. The best way to control diabetes is through diet and exercise and medicines are to be used only when adequate results are not attained with them. As you have achieved good control with diet there is no need to start medicines though I would suggest that please get an HbA1C test done to make sure that you do have good blood glucose control. Once again congratulations on your success. Good luck.
Regards
