Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...hello sir i m vasu age 22(m). last august i had stroke and fel frm bike. while consulting to doctor they told to take ct scan and normal in it. and next in my eeg test i had some problem and doctor told me to continue wit eptine tablet. i took it for 8 months and now stopped it. is it necessary to continue it? plz reply sir...
I read your question and I understand your concern.
Usually if there was a seizure disorder due to your stroke and anti-epileptic treatment is started, it is continued for some time, at least 2 years so I don't think it was a good idea interrupting treatment without consulting your doctor, especially since you have a risk factor for seizures such as stroke. I suggest you see him to discuss your previous EEG findings and necessity for treatment, even if treatment interruption is considered it is wise to have an EEG to look if there is again epileptiform activity in the brain which would help in making decisions for future management.
I hope to have been of help.
