Should Fixcom Be Continued More Than 2 Months After No Relief From Chest Problems?
Hello, I had my chest problems 8 months ago and My doctor advised e to take Fixcom 4 for 2 months and Fixcom 3 for 4 months, i've done that already but after 2 months I feel the same way, do I have to undergo another Xray or take more medicines of Fixcom 3?
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your situation and problem. You are taking treatment for tuberculosis. Fixcom 4 and Fixcom 3 are combination of anti tubercular drugs. You have taken correct dose for correct interval. Recurrence of TB is common. And in your case possibility of recurrence is more because you are feeling similar symptoms after completion of treatment. So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and chest x ray. You may need sputum AFB culture and sensitivity to rule out MDR (multi drug resistant) tuberculosis because MDR tb incidence is high in recurrence. So consult pulmonologist and discuss all these. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
