Should I Be Concerned About Asymmetrical Tonsils And A Small Bump On My Palatoglossal Arch?
Hi, today I ( 22, female) was looking randomly at my tonsils. I ve noticed that they are somewhat asymmetrical. While one appears normal, the other is as if it wasn t even there. I have also noticed a small bump on my palatoglossal arch- it is not completely straight. I don t have any symptoms or anything like that it was just my observation. I wonder if I should worry about that and if it could be anything cancerous. Thanks for all answers!
Tonsils are rarely perfectly symmetrical. Since you're not experiencing any symptoms, it's probably nothing to worry about, but a quick ENT visit can reassure you fully. Avoid smoking; do not take alcohol. Since you are only 22, you shouldn't have a history of weakened immunity. Take home-made nutritious food; avoid taking junk food or spicy, oily food. Do not take packaged or processed food, as they can trigger the symptoms.
Take an adequate amount of water. Take care of your oral hygiene. However, keep an eye on if the asymmetry is increasing or not, if the bump is growing or feels hard. As then you should get clinically examined in the ER urgently. Get clinically examined by an ENT to be on the safer side in case you experience symptoms.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
