Hi dr Samuel I went too the toilet this morning for a poo everything was normal ,then when I wiped I saw bright red blood more than just a drop ,so I looked in the toilet and the water was tainted red . I had a bike accident and cracked a part of my tailbone last weekend had X-rays etc was only a minor crack . I feel fine , not sure if it is major or not . Many Thanks Tim
Hiand welcome to HCM. First here are the symptoms of tailbone injury 1.Severe localized pain and tenderness may be felt in the tailbone area.
2.If the injury is traumatic, a bruise may be visible in this area.
3.The pain is generally worse when sitting for prolonged periods of time, or with direct pressure to the tailbone area.
4.Bowel movementsand straining are often painful.
5.Some women may experience pain during sexual intercourse.
Blood in stools may be due to some other reason like minor tear in rectal mucosa. If u experiencing pain while passing stools along with fresh blood i suspect a minor injury to your rectal mucosal region. I advice u to consult a surgeon who will do rectal examination and then treat u accordingly. Regards
