Should I Be Concerned About The Sharp Pain In Lower Back Left Side During Pregnancy?

Hi so im 6 weeks pregnant and my husband got me sick. I have not taken anything and went to the hospital yesterday. They told me just to get plenty of rest. So when i was laying down, this sharp pain was in my lower back left side area. I have been watching for any bleeding which there are none and today i got upset and started crying. When i finally calmed down, i felt this throbbing feeling in my left side for about 30 seconds. Should i be alarmed? This is my first pregnancy after am abortion 3 years ago.

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Depending on the exact location of the pain this could indicate either a problem with your kidney, your pelvic bones or the organs in the region. A physical examination should help to find the cause, but other than that there is nothing serious you need to worry about. So please visit your doctor and help him/her to help you.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
