Should I Be Worried About My BP Reading While On Anti-hypertensive Medication And Synthroid For Hypothyroidism?
I am 59 yrs of age.Wgt-158. Ht. 5 3 I take no anti-hypertensive meds. I have been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and I take 100mcg of Synthroid. I exercise 4x wkly. Today was BP was 140/80. after walking the stairs. Should I be concerned? Thanks for your time.
Hi. BP recorded after climbing stairs is not reliable it is better to take a reading at rest. BP of 140/80 can be controlled with exercise and dietary modifications. 40 minutes of daily exercise , low fat high fibre diet will help you keep your BP under control. Take care.
