Should I Be Worried After A Medical Abortion When There Has Been No Bleeding?
Hi. Had a medical abortion but failed to bleed so after 24 hours proceeded to get a surgical abortion but it has been 4 days but have not bled ever since the procedure. I only bled after the procedure lightly with little cramps. I feel normal with no cramps or pain but still no bleeding . The pregnancy was 3 weeks. Should I be worried?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Medical abortion may not act on early pregnancy. Surgical abortion might have cleared all the products of conception and once removed completely, there is no bleeding after uterus is empty. The only way to clear your doubt Is transvaginal probe ultrasonography. It will note any residual blood in uterus, if present.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
