General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is a local inflammation to the cast. If the symptoms are severe, it is better to remove the cast and switch to a less irritating synthetic cast.

You can apply low potency steroid creams like betamethasone for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
