Should I Continue The Progesterone For The Next 4 Days After Getting Periods?
I have polycystic ovaries, and because of that I wasn t always getting my period. My doctor prescribed medroxyprogesterone 10mg for 10 days to take one an as needed basis when I wasn t getting my period to kick start it. It s worked perfectly in the past (bleeding would start about 5 days after the 10 doses), but I am on day 6 now, and I have already started bleeding. Should I continue the progesterone for the next 4 days?
Hello, Welcome and thanks for your query. Once the bleeding has started, there's no need to continue. PCOS is due to Insulin resistance. Metformin reduces Insulin resistance and you can discuss it with your doctor. Best wishes,
