Should I Discontinue Betacap TR Due To Shooting Neck Pain And Irregular Heartbeats?

I suddenly had a shooting pain in the neck and head one afternoon after taking lunch. This was followed by faining for a few seconds. I became completely normal in an hour. When I visited the doctor, he said BP was slighly on the high side. I was already under medication taking AMLODUC 5 MG . The doctor prescribed CIPLAR LA, PLAGERINE, and ME-D3 and asked me to take them in addition to Amloduc. . After started taking these tablets, I started having tingling sensations and inrregular heartbeats. When I contacted the doctor, he asked me to take BETACAP TR40 in the place of Ciplar LA. This has still worsened the situation. Shall I stop taking Betacap TR 40

Hello,

Neck pain is not typically listed as a common side effect of Betacap TR, but irregular heartbeat is. Every individual reacts differently to medications. Some may experience unusual side effects that are not commonly reported. Do not stop any prescribed medication without consulting with your treating GP. If you're experiencing neck pain and suspect it might be related to taking Betacap TR, it's essential to consult with your healthcare provider who has prescribed you the medication.

Get your lipid profile, echocardiography, stress test, EkG, X-ray, etc., done to rule out any developing CAD, coronary artery disease. Get yourself examined by a cardiologist and get routine screening tests done. In case, any heart disease is detected you will be treated with medicines, exercises, lifestyle changes or recommended surgery if required.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
