Should I Follow Up With A Cardiology Appointment After An Abnormal ECG?

Hello doctor. I did an ECG in a private hospital and it stated abnormal ECG and unconfirmed report. The doctor referred me urgently to government hospital and I was told it’s not urgent and that I should go back home and only take cardiology appointment. What do I do?

Hi,

Consult your family doctor or a physician for a second opinion during the wait time for cardiologist consultation. If there is a wait time for cardiologist consultation, the family doctor or the physician can help you with any necessity of starting any drugs during the mean time. Also, its better to get a blood work done including blood sugars, thyroid function, serum cholesterol levels. Without seeing the ECG, I cannot comment on the provisional diagnosis.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
