Should I Get The Screws And Plates Removed Which Were Implanted After Having Broken Humerus And Fractured Arm?

I broke my humerus and fractured my upper are in 5 places in March of 2013. I have a plate and 9 screws in my upper arm area. The shoulder and arm are now healed and I have been doing PT for 8 months. I have probably 95% range of motion and am still diligently doing my arm exercises daily. Would it be beneficial for me to consider getting the plate and screws removed or are they still serving a purpose.

Hi,
If you have virtually full function of your arm and shoulder, there would be no reason to remove the metalwork. There is always risks related to surgery so there would have to be a valid reason to go through a further operation.
