Hi Dr. My 2 yrs old daughter poked me in the eye and caused for me a corneal abraison on sunday this week..I am wondering how many days it wll take to heal , The doctor gave me oflox drops and an ointment to apply and advised me to keep it covered, when i remove the cover to change it I try to look in the mirror but the vision is very blurred..is that normal? and what else ca do to speed the healing? How long i have to keep it cover still? Thanks in advance
Hello It seems from the history that your 2 year old daughter had a injury to the eye resulting in corneal abrasion. The treatment is by use of antibiotic eye drops and artificial tears eye drops. Ofloxacin is a antibiotic eye drop and it can be used. Corneal abrasion will lead to blurring of vision hence no need to worry about this. A corneal abrasion will normally heal in 1-3 days. If it is not healing it requires examination by your doctor.
Hi The treatment is ok and one should continue. Lubricating eye drops may help further. Normally such an abraison heals within days. If persisting , one should go for follow up check up by staining etc. All the best.
