Should I Go To The ER Since I M Feeling Worse On Levaquin For My UTI, With Symptoms Like Elevated Heart Rate, Confusion, And Fever?
Hello, I am currently being treated with Levaquin for a UTI and have been on medication for 5 days. I am feeling significantly worse, and am experiencing elevated heart rate, a bit of confusion, dizziness, slight fever and overall malaise and discomfort. I am currently being treated for fever of unknown origin and have an underlying condition that has yet to be diagnosed which has caused recurrent infections and hospitalizations. Trying to figure out if I need to be seen in the Emergency Room
Your symptoms are indicative that you are suffering from the side effects of the medicine you have been taking. Visit ER and get clinically examined. If needed, the medicine you are taking will be replaced by another medicine that will suit you better. In the meantime, stay at rest. Keep yourself well hydrated. Do not skip meals.
You should get a repeat urinalysis (R/S and C/S) done to confirm UTI and the specific antibiotic that will help you get better. You will be assessed for any underlying medical condition that is causing you symptoms.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
