Should I See A Doctor For Tenderness Behind Knee And Kink In Back After Fall?
I am a 66 year old woman in good health. Last Thursday, on my fourth horseback riding lesson, my mount tripped and fell to his right front knee and then onto his side with me in the saddle. My right leg felt like a dish rag that had been wrung out. I iced it for two days and it never hurt to walk on, just tender to touch behind the knee. Monday I did a 3 mi slow walk then Tues I rode bikes gently on flat about 8 miles, slow an easy (we ususally ride 30) The leg is yellow and blue, seems fine except for still tender behind knee and doesn't bend all the way calf to thigh yet. and today I have a "kink" in my back right side above the hip. Sigh. Should I see a doctor? A chiropractor or just keep it up and rest more? ann
Due to blunt injury there can be hematoma collection .The bleeding that occurs result in hematoma collection. Over a period of time, as hematoma resolves it cause local skin symptoms around the hematoma.
Continue ice application, and thrombhophobe ointment may help
MRI /CT scan will help in confirming avulsion of ligament .
I can help you more if you can send/attach report of your knee x-ray. Use knee brace for support till time.
