Should I Switch To Thytrophin PMG Alongside Thyroxine For Persistent Hashimoto S Symptoms?

Hi My name is Lorraine... Ive had hashimotos for about 28yrs although I believe it has been longer. I m currently and have been for many yrs on 125mgs of thyroxine and although I believe it is what has helped me throughout the years I m still never completely free of symptoms so now iam considering giving thyrotrophin pmg a try. Do u recommend I switch or just take it along with the thyroxine.

Hi,

The role of thyrotropin PMG has not been evaluated by by FDA yet. There is no conclusive study about its effect in Hashimoto's disease. Also, its long term side effects have not been studied yet. Hence, I will not advise you for its use till its benefits vs risks have been properly known by rational studies.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
