Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am 38 yrs old male with weight of 73 Kgs. My usual BP is 140/90 and I have been taking medicine for the same for the past 2 years (Temla40 for past 1 year and Betacap40 for the last 1 year). One doctor prescribed my Telma 40 and another one prescribed me Betacap 40. Which one is to take ?
Regarding your concern, I would explain that both drugs help to lower high blood pressure. Temla is an angiotensin receptor blocker, while Betacap id a beta-blocker. Facing your young age and possible implication of therapy to physical performance, I would recommend Templa, which offers a better hemodynamic profile, if no contraindications exist. nevertheless, there are many several options for high BP treatment. You need to discuss with your doctor about your past medical history implications in deciding the most safety profile treatment. Hope to have been helpful to you. Greetings!
