Should I Take All The Ten Tablets Of Fluconazole Prescribed For A Yeast Infection?

I have a yeast infection. My dr prescribed fluconazole (100 mg tab). The rx was for 10 tabs. Do I need to take all 10 of them? Usually only 1 to 3 is needed. I don t want to take too much. Did she just send me extra for later since I get yeast infections fairly often. The rx reads to take 1 tablet by mouth every day.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Fluconazole usually taken in a weekly basis. You can take two tablets on a day and repeat the same after one week. If infection is severe you can take one tablet per day. Do not take all at once.

Wishing you good health.

Thanks.
