Should I Take An Anti Rabies Vaccination Shot After Being Licked By A Dog Affected By Rabies?

My dog has been affected by rabies, symptoms started from yesterday (07-08-2018), I got licked on my legs but don t know Wether it licked wounded portion so Wether should I go for vaccination or not. Last year I took anti rabies vaccination due to scratch made by vaccinated puppy.

Hi,

If the dog licked on intact skin, don't worry, but if it licked on wounded skin then you have to get vaccinated.

You already vaccinated last means your vaccination doses may be reduced to three, i.e. 0, 3 and 14 days.

You can also use rabies immunoglobulin around the site of the bite. You can check serum immunoglobulin status then decide the vaccination schedule.

Please consult your doctor, he will examine and treat you accordingly.
