Should I Take An IPill To Prevent Unwanted Pregnancy When I Have Taken Regestrone For About 10 Days?

I have been taking regesterone cr 10mg tablets(1 each day) for last 10 days (started taking them 3 days before my periods starting date) , and today , on the 11th day i had unprotected sex . Should i take an i pill without taking any more regesterone ? What should i do please help . PLease tell me if i pill will prevent unwanted pregnancy in this case

Hi,

In the dosage, you are taking Regestrone, you need to take at least 10-13 days to sufficiently mature the uterine lining enough for a withdrawal bleed to occur, when you do stop it. Therefore, to be on safer side, I will advise you, to continue the same dose for 4-5 days more. Normally withdrawal bleeding should occur within 3-5 days of stoppage of Regestrone. If the bleeding does not occur within 7 days, then you may take a home pregnancy test to confirm/rule out the pregnancy.
