Should I Take Azithral For Throat Infection And Diarrhea?

hi doctor,
i was suffering from throat infection for almost four days i went to medicalshop he gave me azithral 500 for 3 days, from the second day onwards im feeling diarrhea told is the fourth day. couple of months back also i got diarrhea when used antibiotics. now im using neutrolin B capsules to control that but there is no use....wat exactly is the problem

Hi, antibiotic induced diarrhoea is a common problem and pre and probiotics are used for this. In case your diarrhoea is not resolving even with these, you may need to stop the culprit antibiotic which in your case is azithromycin. In case further antibiotic treatment is required, you may need to shift to some other antibiotic like say a quinolone. Please caution your doctor in future that azithromycin causes diarrhoea to you. The cause is due to alteration of normal gut flora and the pre and probiotics restore the normal flora and resolve the problem. Regards
