Should I Take Motrin To Cure Swelling Of Lymph Nodes Under Chin And Neck After Undergoing Tongue Piercing?
Hello! I got my tongue pierced about 8 months ago. I woke up 2 days ago with my tongue very swollen and sensitive. The lymph nodes under my chin and in my neck are visibly swollen. There is no pus coming out of the piercing site, and I am still able to swallow and talk okay. My doctor recommended 600mg motrin with each meal and put me on an antibiotic. It has been about 24 hours since I started the antibiotic and the swelling has only gotten worse. What should I do?
Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query. The swelling over the tongue and the lymphnodes can be because of the infection at the site of tongue piercing. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. Mean while you can take a course of antibiotics like amoxicillin and metronidazole(if you are not allergic). Do saline gargling. I hope i have answered your query. Take care.
