Should I Take My Boyfriend To The Emergency Room For Severe Right Hip Pain Radiating To His Leg?

My boyfriend is experiencing severe pain in his right hip that radiates into his buttocks and leg but just to the knee. He was told by a chiropractor that he could possibly be an inguinal hernia. His bowel movements have lessened significantly but no blood or tar in them. Urination is okay but he feelis like he isnt able to get all of the urine out. He can barely put any pressure on right leg due to extremem pain that will drop him to the floor. He has been using a cain to help but it seems to be getting worse. His dads family has a history of colon and prostate cancer and he has high blood pressure that has worsened significantly as well. He doesnt take and medications except ibuprofen daily.. im extremely worried because his pain has gotten severe as in it went from a level 5 to level 10 in just a couple of weeks. Should i take him to an emergency room?
