Hello and welcome,

I completely understand your problem.

The issue of baby weight depends upon the pelvis through which the baby has to pass. If the pelvis is big and roomy then a big baby will pass whereas if it is contracted then even a small baby will not pass.

The best judge here is her doctor. If she has examined the pelvis and feels it will be difficult for the baby to pass then you must have faith in her. height and pelvis are not always correlated. However even after saying that a height of 5.3 is average and the baby size is big.

Please understand one issue that if a large baby is made to squeeze through a small space it will get choked and may not cry properly. There may be injuries to the genital tract of the mother due to the squeezing process. It may ultimately land in a difficult cesarean section. So if the doctor feels that it may not be possible, I suggest that it is best to follow her advice.

I hope that I clarify the issue.
Wish her a safe delivery and happy motherhood.
Hope this satisfies your query.
