Should Lopressor And Losartan Both Be Taken For High BP?

I was on two blood pressure meds .Lopressor and Losartan 100mg . They have caused me to have asthma .The dr . took Lopressor away and gave me Cardizem Cd 180 mg instead.The asthma didn t go away so I have stopped the Lopressor to and just take the Cardizem 180 mg. Will I be ok until I see my Dr in 2 weeks . My blood pressure is about 150/92 . I am taking two baby aspirn a day.

dear,Asthma is found among people who take Losartan , especially for people who are female, 60+ old, have been taking the drug for < 1 month,lopressor is b blocker and can precipitate asthma,u should stop both these medicines,u should take Amlovin H containing Amlodipine Besilate 5 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 50 mg, addition of amlodipine to Hydrochlorothiazide enhanced its antihypertensive action; (2) amlodipine is safe and well tolerated; and (3) amlodipine has a favorable effect on lipids
