Hi... My daughter is 2 month old and had pentaxim vaccine on 29th aug, 2014. As i searched on an internet about this painless vaccine , i came to know that it is banned in India. Now i am very confused about this vaccine. Is this caused any side effect to my baby or should i continue this pentaxim for next vaccine. Plese let me know the answer for this confusion
Hi Thanks for posting your query at HealthCareMagic I understand your query . Pentaxim is not banned in India , it has been used for many years in India , has protected so many babies in India as well as abroad . It is safe to continue with Pentaxim , it will not cause any side effects to baby. The controversy( created by media and some doctors ) is regarding long term protection with acellular versus whole cell vaccines ) . If you take all primary and booster of DPT at time , there should be no reason to worry . It is not banned in India , it is as safe to use as other vaccines.
Hope I answered your query, Fell free to revert if there is any other query. Thanks
