Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Should Telvas H12.5 And Telvas H Be Taken For Having LVH?
One of the Dr has prescribed me Telvas H12.5 and another tELVAS h...I HAVE 160/100 BP WHICH FLUCTUATES 150/ 90 SOME TIMES AND RECENT ECG SHOWS LVH. WHICH MEDICINE SHOULD I TAKE AND HOW LONG TO TAKE ? IS THERE ANY SIDE EFFECT OF THIS MEDICINE AND ANY SUPPLEMENTAL VITAMIN TO BE TAKEN ? I AM 60 YEARS OLD.
Thank you for your question! I understand your concern and want to explain that Telvas H, that is telmisartan+hydrochlorthiazide (HCTZ) whichever dose of HCTZ it contains (12,5 or 25 mg) is a good option fr your hypertension treatment, unless you don't have liver or renal dysfunction. to measure the effect of a given dose treatment you have to wait for about 2 to 4 weeks of treatment; and after that if BP values keep going abnormally high you can up titrate (that is to increase the dose), BUT ALWAYS ACCORDING TO THE DOCTOR SUPERVISION. Hope to have been helpful to you! Greetings from Dr. Iliri
