My granddaughter who is 10 years old and is nonverbal with autism. She had a fever of 103 and had a seizure .she was taken to emerg in the hospital. Antibiotics was prescribed, which she has difficulty taking. She was also given a suppository to reduce her fever. She has no symptoms of a cold, but she has a tooth coming through. My question , should blood work have been taken?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

the situation with which you went to hospital, the kids temperature has to be reduced first. Hence probably they went about giving an antibiotic. Blood test after am antibiotic is required if the kid didn't recover, if recovered then the reports might not be correct since antibiotics we're already given.

Hope I have answered your query.
