Should A Doctor Be Consulted For Chest Pain After Taking Ciprofloxacin?

HI my Dr. put me on Cirofloxacin 250mg @ 12 hrs for 7 days. I took 3 pills and my chest started pounding and hurting and I have been feeling tired, and bad headaches and feeling real nervous. Should I call the Dr. and tell him I don t feel good taking this medicine?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Ciprofloxacin may cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) in some patients and hence tachycardia (heart pounding).Check your random blood sugar (RBS) at the time of heart pounding. You can always consult your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
