Should A Gynecological Oncologist Be Consulted Now?
i have a blocked right ureter. i had a ct with contrast yesterday and it confirmed my urologist s suspicions. additionally, the found fluid in my abdomen and a cyst on my left ovary. i had a partial hysterectomy 4 years ago but still have a left ovary. my urologist wants me to see a gynecological oncologist. do you think that is the right move
It would be an immense help to know the reason for the hysterectomy as well as the size and nature of the current cyst.
In any case a blocked ureter with an ovarian cyst and abdominal fluid do suggest the possibility of a tumor. Another reason may be adhesions due to previous surgery.
However an opinion of a gynec oncologist is a good option now considering the findings and is a good way to move forward towards establishing a diagnosis.
So please go ahead with it.
