Should A Liver Cyst Be Removed Surgically?

I would like to know about a cyst on the liver that was just
diagnosed and it is five cm . I also need to know of cyst that
was diagnosed on a 18 year old girl. it was discovered by her regular dr visit and was recomended to see a specialist to have it removed outside of doing surgery. Do to her age she won't give the dr permission to talk to us. the firs part is on
a 52 year old man. thank you

Hello , thank you for your question . If you were my patient i would suggest some exams ,like CT to diagnose what coused that cyst to develop . I dont suggest surgery without the exact diagnose . It can be congenital , which needs surgery only if keeps growing . Could be parasitic , like echinoccocus . It is very unlikely to think of carcinom . Get appointment with a surgeon .
