Should A Painless Hard Knot On Mastoid Bone Be Of Medical Concern?

My son (6 year old) has a large, hard knot on his mastoid bone. It is towards the top of the bone. He has no other symptoms (no fever, ear ache, etc.) and he says that it doesn t hurt. He just found it a few minutes ago. Should we take him to an after hours doctor, or is it something that we could wait to see how it is tomorrow?
