Should A Person With Hyper Tension Medications Take Retirement?
I have been taking valium for several years and have been working at my job now for almost 4 years. We have a nurse on site . She has been there for about 8 months . I have it on record in the office saying i take 5mg of valium twice a day. I went in her office to have my blood pressure tested and she ask me what meds. i was taking and i told her. Now she is saying at my age (57) and taking my meds i am putting myself and other employes at risk and now on leave from work until i go to there docter. Also saying i can lose my job and wanting me to stop taking it . Can they do that? I feel i have been singled out and targed on this . I know several others that take stronger meds then me and have not been ask to stop. Do i have an option to stop this? Thanks Don W.
Hello, Thank you for trusting HCM. I think the idea behind asking this question is not purely medical, and i will have to strict myself to the medical background of it. Please refer to a medical doctor for proper diagnosis of your blood pressure issue and discuss with your doctor your fitness to continue on working and whether your current health situation demands you to stop working. hope that helped. Best regards, Dr. Ahmad
