I am looking for a specialist, I live in Northwest Alabama and I have been diagnosed with severe chronic idiopathic neutropenia, leukopenia, hypothyroidism, and high blood sugar/insulin resistance,. I feel fatigued, have little energy, brain fog, constipation, hip pain, weight gain and frequent infections(sinus upper respiratory, enlarged swollen glands, mouth ulcers, ear , bronchitis, stomach Elias, etc..). My labs for thyroid and my A1C are fine and my white counts are low, even when I have an infection. My doctor keeps trying to put me on steroids for the infections and inflammation. I have been told by a specialist to avoid steroids, is the the right thing to do? I wish I could find a specialist and figure out what is causing all of this, any suggestions? I have been to several specialist and have taken Neuprogen injections, but we really didn t notice any difference. I was still periodically getting sick and the Neuprogen injections caused me severe flu like pain and pain in my back and hips. Please help with any advice or referral. It is very frustrating going to the doctors and being passed to another one again and again. I have been test for every blood test possible, I think and bone marrow biopsies the past couple of years. I am 42 years old and a mother of two and two step children and don t have time to be sick. Last time the doctor suggested an autoimmune specialist? Is that the right specialist to see now? I have seen my general MD, a hematologist/oncologist, an ENT, gastrointestinal doctor, and an infectious disease specialist. Please help?
