Should Cholesterol Medicines Be Taken For Lifelong? What Are The Side-effects?
Hi, My Mother has been taking Cholesterol medicines since the last 6 years. Since the last 3 years her Lipid profile tests have been normal. Hence, the physician advised her to take rozavel f5 since last year. My question is, whether cholesterol medicines have to be taken during the lifetime and what are the side effects of rozavel f5?
Respected Sir/Madam Thanks for your query. It depends upon the indication for therapy and profile of patients. Most of the patients require to take therapy life long because of diabetes or concomitant cardiovascular disease. However there are very few indications of combination therapy i.e. rozavel F in current practice. Do discuss with your physician. Main side effects are muscle pain, muscle weakness, cataract, liver disorder etc. sincerely Sukhvinder
