Should Glasses Be Worn For Impaired Vision In Eyes?

HI, I was was having spherical power -0.75 in both of my eyes. after a years is decreased to -0.50. After a year I started pain and itching in my left eye only, when checked with doctor , they prescribed a glass of -0.50 with Cyl -0.25 and axis 1600. is it some thing to wroy about ? please guide me. I am not wearing the glass less then 30min in a whole day. Thanks Sher
